Shabbat Shalom from your Jewish Federation leadership

Dear Friend,

This has been a great week for our community! On Tuesday, about 100 Western Massachusetts residents joined us at the March for Israel in Washington, D.C. It was a beautiful day of unity and love, a historic moment where close to 300,000 Jews and allies stood up for Israel, demanded our hostages back, and gave a resounding no to antisemitism. We are so glad that we were joined by everyone who came with us and our other brothers and sisters in support of Israel from the American Jewish population, against antisemitism and hate of all forms, and political support from both sides of the aisle.

Contributing to Federation’s Annual Campaign allows us to mobilize the community, like what we did in providing transportation to and from the March for Israel in Washington, D.C., combat growing antisemitism, and supporting community needs where it’s needed most. We cannot do our sacred work, our sacred obligation, without your support. Please consider making a donation to our Annual Campaign today.

We are also proud to inform you that we have met our goal for purchasing an ambulance for Magen David Adom. Please stay tuned for details in early 2024 when we will be having an ambulance dedication ceremony for the community. We are also very grateful for all the donations we have received for the Israel Emergency Campaign. So far, our community has raised $409,455! There is still much to be done so please consider making a donation to the Israel Emergency Campaign today.

We are also excited to share that on Wednesday night, the City of Easthampton said no to antisemitism with the unanimous passing of an antisemitism resolution in front of a full house of supporters. If you would like to see the resolution, you can click here. The Daily Hampshire Gazette also wrote a story about the passing of the resolution and you can read it here.

In other news related to antisemitism, yesterday we unveiled our statement against antisemitism. Click here to read it. We will also have antisemitism yard signs available at no cost in the coming days. Please stay tuned for details!

If you are looking to do something positive for Israel, we hope you’ll consider joining Moshe Ronen in Longmeadow every week. Next Friday, (11/24) the rally will start at at 1:30pm. You’ll find him and his group at the Longmeadow intersection off of I-91. You can text him at 413-348-4496 for more details.

If you would like to hold a similar rally in your town, please let us know. We can provide you with flags and signs as well as promote your rally through our social media. Please email us at marketing@jewishwesternmass.org if you are interested.

Shabbat Shalom and Am Yisrael Chai,
