12/10/21: Shabbat Shalom From Interim Executive Director Nora Gorenstein

Dear Friend,

Our Federation was honored to celebrate togetherness last weekend by bringing our community its first-ever Hanukkah Festival of (Laser) Light in collaboration with several of our local partners. Togetherness is key, as this week’s Torah portion (Vayigash) reminds us, in the words of Rabbi Asher Lopatin, “we must look into ourselves and into this Torah portion, and know that we have it within us to reunite our people and keep us together in all our diversity.”

Together, we will achieve our dreams: together, we have built a community of over 25,000 Jewish people coming together across affiliations, traditions, and geography to share the dream of Jewish unity. On January 18, 2021, we will come together for the next Annual Meeting of the Jewish Federation of Western Massachusetts, celebrating all that we have achieved together in the past year, and the new opportunities in the year to come.

I hope you will save the date (or register now) and plan to be part of this VIRTUAL gathering. Raise your voice as part of our community to vote for our incoming slate of Board members for 2022, which will be published next Friday, December 17th. All current donors to the 2021 Annual Campaign are eligible to vote, so please don’t hesitate: make your pledge today, and register to attend this uniquely impactful event. All are welcome!

I look forward to hearing from you; please reach out at any time.

Shabbat Shalom,

Nora Gorenstein
Interim Executive Director
