Henny Lewin

Henia Lewin (Henny), co-chair of Women’s Philanthropy, was featured on Friday, May 8th, 2020, for Women’s Philanthropy Virtual Café with Educator and Holocaust Survivor Henia Lewin.

Henny was born in Lithuania and she survived the Holocaust. She became an instructor of Hebrew and Yiddish and taught Hebrew to new immigrants from the former Soviet Union. In 1997 she received a Covenant Award as an Outstanding Jewish Educator in North America. Henny continues to speak regularly to school children and adult groups about the Holocaust. She is an active member of Five College Learning in Retirement and a long time facilitator of their memoir writing seminar. Read more about Henny here.
