Protesters gather in Northampton to call for peace in Gaza
NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) — Calls for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza continue as protesters gathered locally to voice their opinions in Northampton on Sunday. 22News was there and has the latest on local opinions of the escalating tensions in the Middle East.
Hundreds were chanting and raising their voices in Northampton on a bright but chilly Sunday morning. This will mark the 50th protest held by Western Mass Jewish Voice for Peace. They’re pushing for a ceasefire, pointing to the nearly 30,000 civilians who have been killed in Gaza.
“Every single week, we watch this carnage just get worse than our worst nightmares of what someone would experience in their lives,” expressed Molly Aronson of the Jewish Voice for Peace of Western Massachusetts.
