Notes of Hope: A Concert Fundraiser for Dignity Grows Raises Over $4,000

Federation, in partnership with Mak’hela: The Jewish Chorus of Western Massachusetts, hosted Notes of Hope: A Concert Fundraiser for Dignity Grows on Sunday, March 16, 2025 at the Jewish Community of Amherst. The inspiring afternoon of music and community successfully raised $4,215 to support individuals in need through the Dignity Grows initiative.

Attendees were treated to a special performance by Mak’hela, known for their beautiful harmonies and heartfelt melodies. Their uplifting music resonated throughout the venue, creating an atmosphere of unity and generosity. The event not only showcased incredible talent but also reinforced the importance of addressing period poverty in the local community.

Dignity Grows, powered by the Federation’s Women’s Philanthropy division, provides essential hygiene products to women, girls, and individuals assigned female at birth who struggle with access to these necessities. By ensuring access to these products, Dignity Grows helps individuals attend school, go to work, and participate in daily life without disruption.

Government programs like SNAP and WIC do not cover personal and menstrual hygiene products, making initiatives like Dignity Grows essential in closing this gap. Each donation helps provide tote bags filled with necessary hygiene items, ensuring dignity and support for those in need.

Federation extends its heartfelt gratitude to everyone who attended, donated, and supported this important cause. To learn more about Dignity Grows and how you can donate, click here.
