GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
A senior development position with an Intermediate Jewish Federation located in Western Massachusetts. Requires dedication, loyalty and a passion for the community. Ability to think and act with flexibility and confidence.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITITIES
Demonstrate passion for and be able to articulate the mission and importance of the Jewish Federation of Western Massachusetts and the Jewish Endowment Foundation goals.
Manage a portfolio of donors giving between $1,800-$75,000 as well as prospects who have the capacity to give within that range.
Establish and maintain strong personal relationships through cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.
Develop, plan and execute a robust Women’s Philanthropy program including special events, solicitations, committee oversight, and campaign participation.
Create, plan, implement and staff events and special projects in support of fundraising priorities.
Work collaboratively with Chief Executive Officer, Board President, Endowment and Campaign Chairs, as well as colleagues at community organizations, synagogues, agencies and day schools.
Possess up-to-date knowledge of the issues and programs priorities throughout the Jewish community.
MINOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with the Marketing and Communications Director on the creation and development of campaign and endowment materials.
Oversee the Development Associate activities and direct the planning of special projects and reporting requirements for grants and community projects.
Knowledge of the Jewish community is preferred.
Minimum of three years successful experience in development field.
Strong knowledge of annual giving, endowment solicitation, and donor relationship building.
Strong communication, interpersonal and writing skills.
Strong Microsoft application computer skills.
Experience with Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint. Familiarity with Donor management systems such as Raiser’s Edge and Blackbaud CRM.
